The purpose, priorities and principles of the company are the focus of this message from Chrysler LLC Chairman and CEO Bob Nardelli.

Dear Colleagues:

A company should be able to express its purpose and strategic framework on a single page. That’s important because a team builds its power when it moves together united in a common cause.

Attached to this note is a one-pager that expresses our strategic framework for future success: link

It starts with a vision — to provide cars and trucks that customers will want to buy, will enjoy driving and will want to buy again. Chrysler veterans will recognize these words, because our vision — or our purpose — for the most part, does not change. Those 20 words capture the concepts of attracting, satisfying and keeping our customers with great products. That’s why we’re in business. That’s what we come to work to do.

We also have a very important mission -– one that can be expressed in just three words — return to profitability. It’s a critical mission, because without sustainable profitability, we cannot fulfill our vision.

We are working very hard to achieving our mission, and we’re doing so through our three E’s — enhancing our core, extending our business and expanding the market.

Underlining these three E’s is a fourth — “Execute!” That applies to all of us, and it means flawlessly executing our strategy and committing to improve everything we touch every day.

From the first day of The New Chrysler, you’ve heard us talk about our five Business Fundamentals:

These remain our priorities. While our vision and mission spell out what we want to accomplish, our five fundamentals communicate how we will achieve success. We can never forget to place the customer first, and we must keep our focus on quality. We also know that being green and going global are keys to a successful future. And “powered by great people” means exactly that -– our vision is brought to life only through outstanding employees, suppliers and dealers.

Finally, the Chrysler leadership team has adopted a statement we call “Our Values.” It’s a single sentence that pulls together a few key concepts. Let’s look at this in five steps:

As we face our daily challenges, it’s important to take a moment to reaffirm our vision, to stay focused on our mission and our fundamentals, and to remind ourselves of the values that we treasure. These are the concepts that unite us.

We encourage you to post the attached one-pager in your work area as a daily reminder of our purpose, priorities and principles.

Let’s tap into the power of our shared vision to show the world what the Chrysler team can do.

Thank you very much for your effort and support.

Bob
